Memory Guru ways to improve your English- THE MEMORY GURU OF INDIA

1.      Start your own English language blog. Even for people who don't have to write in English, writing can be a great way of properly learning the kind of vocabulary you need to describe your own life and interests, and of thinking about how to stop making grammar mistakes. The problem most people have is that they don't know what to write about. One traditional way to make sure you write every day in English is to write an English diary (journal), and a more up to date way of doing this is to write a blog. Popular topics include your language learning experience, your experience studying abroad, your local area, your language, or translations of your local news into English.

2.      Write a news diary. Another daily writing task that can work for people who would be bored by writing about their own routines in a diary is to write about the news that you read and listen to everyday. If you include your predictions for how you think the story will develop (e.g. "I think Hillary will become president"), this can give you a good reason to read old entries another time, at which time you can also correct and mistakes you have made and generally improve what you have written.

3.      Sign up for a regular English tip. Some websites offer a weekly or even daily short English lesson sent to your email account. If your mobile phone has an e-mail address, it is also possible to have the tips sent to your phone to read on the way to work or school. Please note, however, that such services are not usually graded very well to the levels of different students, and they should be used as a little added extra or revision in your English studies rather than as a replacement for something you or your teacher have chosen more carefully as what you need to learn.

4.      Listen to MP3s. Although buying music on the internet is becoming more popular in many countries, not so many people know that you can download speech radio such as audio books (an actor reading out a novel) and speech radio. Not only is this better practice for your English than listening to English music, from sources like Scientific American, BBC and Australia's ABC Radio it is also free.

5.      Listen to English music. Even listening to music while doing something else can help a little for things like getting used to the natural rhythm and tone of English speech, although the more time and attention you give to a song the more you will learn from listening to it again in the future.

6.      Read the lyrics to a song. Although just listening to a song in English can be a good way of really learning the words of the chorus in an easily memorable way, if you want to really get something out of listening to English music you will need to take some time to read the lyrics of the song with a dictionary. If the lyrics are not given in the CD booklet, you may be able to find them on the internet, but please note that some lyrics sites deliberately put a few errors into their lyrics for copyright reasons. Once you have read and understood the lyrics,  if you then listen and read at the same time, this can be a good way of understanding how sounds change in fast, natural, informal speech.

7.      Sing karaoke in English. The next stage after understanding and memorising a song is obviously to sing it. Although some words have their pronunciation changed completely to fit in with a song, most of the words have the same sounds and stressed syllables as in normal speech. Remembering which words rhyme at the end of each line can also be a good way of starting to learn English pronunciation.

8.      Write a film, music, hotel or book review. Another motivating and easy way to make yourself write in English is to write a review for a site such as Amazon or Internet Movie Database. Many non-native speakers write reviews on sites like this, and if you have some special understanding of the book, music or film due to your first language or knowing the artist personally, that would be very interesting for the English speakers who read and write reviews on the site.

9.      Only search in English. Switching your search engine to the English language version of msn, yahoo, Google etc. can not only be a good way of practising fast reading for specific information in English, but could also give you a wider choice of sites to choose from and give you an idea of what foreigners are writing about your country and area.

10.  Read a book you've already read or seen the movie of in your own language. Although most language learners under Advanced level would probably learn more from reading a graded reader or something from the internet than they would from reading an original book written for English speakers, for some people reading something like Harry Potter in the original can be a great motivator to improve their English. To make this easier for you and make sure that it motivates you rather than just making your tired, try reading a book that you already know the story of. This not only makes it easier to understand and guess vocabulary, but you are also more likely to remember the language in it. If you have not read the book before, reading a plot summary from the internet can also help in the same way.

11.  Read a translation into English. Another way of making sure books are easier to understand is to choose a book that was originally translated into English, preferably from your own language. Even if you haven't read the book in your own language, you will find the English is written in a slightly simplified way that is more similar to how your own language is written than a book originally written in English would be.

12.  Skip the first ten pages. If you have given up with a book in English or are reading it very slowly, try skimming through the first ten pages or skipping them completely. The start of most books tend to be mainly description and are therefore full of difficult vocabulary and don't have a clear story line yet to help you understand what is happening and to motivate you to turn the next page. If the book is still too difficult even after the introductionary part is finished, it is probably time to give that book up for now and try it again after you have read some easier things.

13.  Read a book with lots of dialogue. Opening up books before you buy one and flicking through them to find one with lots of direct dialogue in it has several advantages. If there is less text on the page due to all the speech marks etc, this can make it easier to read and easier to write translations on. Dialogue is also much easier to understand than descriptive parts of a book, and is much more like the language you will want to learn in order to be able to speak English.

14.  Read English language comics. Even more than books with lots of dialogue, comics can be easy to understand and full of idiomatic language as it is actually spoken. There can be difficulties with slang, difficult to understand jokes and/ or dialogue written how people speak rather than with normal spellings, so try to choose which comic carefully. Usually, serious or adventure comics are easier to understand than funny ones.

15.  Read English language entertainment guides. Nowadays most big cities in the world have an English language magazine and/ or online guide to the movies, plays, exhibitions that are on in the city that week. Reading this in English is not only good value, but it could also guide you to places that English speakers are interested in and where you might hear some English spoken around you.

16.  Read English language magazines. Like books, if you can read two versions of the same magazine (Newsweek in your language and in English, for example), that could make understanding it much easier.

17.  Take a one week intensive course. Although you cannot expect to come out of a very short course speaking much better English than when you started it, if you continue studying a little over the following weeks and months, the knowledge you gained then will gradually come out and mean that your level of speaking, listening etc. are better than they would have been if you hadn't taken that course. This positive effect can still be true up to a year later.

18.  Follow your intensive course up with an extensive course. The more time you can spend studying English the better, but studying periodic intensive courses with a few hours of study a week in between is probably better value for money than any other system as it gives your brain time to subconsciously learn and start using the new language you have learnt before you introduce the next new "chunk" of language.

19.  Supplement your group class with a one to one class. Another good way to combine two different kinds of classes is to study both in a group class and one to one. Having a one to one teacher, even if just a couple of times a month, will mean that you can be taught exactly the language that you need, that you will have more time to speak, and that you can have as much error correction as you like.

20.  Supplement your one to one class with a group class. The benefits of having a group class are often less clear to students, but they include the fact that you will learn to deal with several people speaking at once, have a chance to practice skills such as interrupting people, and will hear a range of different viewpoints and topics.

21.  Teach your children or friends some English. Recent research has shown that elder children tend to be a couple of IQ points above their younger siblings, and the most likely reason is that explaining things to their little brothers and sisters gives them an intellectual boost. In the same way, teaching someone lower level than you the English you already know is a great way of permanently fixing that knowledge in your own brain.

22.  Ask your company to start English lessons. Even if you don't need to speak English at work, English lessons can be a fun and reasonably priced way for your company to spend their training budget in a popular way.

23.  Have English radio on in the background while you are doing your housework. Even if you are not listening carefully, it will help you get a feel for natural English rhythm and intonation.

24.  Play English language learning games on your Nintendo DS. Although such games can have quite random language and are unlikely to improve your ability to speak English on their own, the next time you hear or read the same language elsewhere it will be really fixed in your brain by the fact you have played a game with it in already. It is also a nice way of taking a break from your other English studies while also doing some English. To make sure it really is a break and to avoid wasting time learning language from the game that is not much used in daily life, don't bother writing down any new language you see in the game, but just try to learn it from playing the game again.

25.  Say or think what you are doing in English as you do your daily tasks. As you are doing your chores, try creating sentences describing what you are doing, e.g. ‘I am unscrewing the ketchup bottle cap'. This gets you used to thinking in English without translating, and can be a good way of seeing what simple vocabulary that is around you everyday you don't know. yet

26.  Watch English language films with English subtitles. For people who can't understand a film without subtitles but find themselves not listening at all when reading subtitles in their own language, this should be the way of watching a film that you should aim for. If it is too difficult to watch the whole film this way, try watching the (usually important) first 10 or 15 minutes of the film with subtitles in your own language, switch to English subtitles after that, and only switch back to subtitles in your own language if you get totally lost following the story of the film.

27.  Watch films in your language with English subtitles. If you are finding English films with English subtitles too difficult or you can't find English films with English subtitles in your local video shop, this is a good second best option. Looking for local films with English subtitles can also sometimes be a good sign of quality, as it means the producers of the film are expecting it to be popular internationally as well.

28.  Watch English films with subtitles in your language. Again, this is not as good practice as English language films with English subtitles, but is more relaxing, can be easier to find suitable DVDs for, and is also possible with VHS.

29.  Watch the same film or TV episode over and over again. This can not only save you money on DVDs, but will mean that you can really learn the language without having to study it. Some comedies can also get funnier the more you watch them, especially if you watch them with no subtitles and so understand a little more each time you watch it.

30.  Be realistic about your level. One thing that holds many language learners back is actually trying too hard and tackling something that their brain is not ready for yet. Checking your level with a level check test on the internet, by taking an English language test (FCE, CAE, IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL etc.), or by taking a free trial level check and/ or lesson in a language school will help you find out what your level is and so choose suitable self-study materials.

31.  Be realistic about your reading level. Most researchers agree that people learn most when reading something they understand almost all of. If there are one or two words per page that you have never seen before, that is about the right level. If there are three or more on every page, you should switch to something easier and come back later.

32.  Read graded readers (= easy readers). These are books that are especially written for language learners like you, e.g. Penguin Readers. Although it can be difficult to find something as interesting as things written in newspapers or on the internet, in terms of learning the language only people who need to read for their work or an exam usually gain more from reading things written for graded readers. Graded readers of classic books like Charles Dickens also have the benefit of giving you a lot of knowledge about the literature, and culture more generally, of English speaking countries in a short time.

33.  Read the whole thing with no help. Although using a dictionary has been shown to help with both short term and long term learning of vocabulary, the fact that using it slows reading down can stop some people reading in English at all. Reading a whole book quickly through just for pleasure from time to time will help you remember how fun reading in another language can be.

34.  Read and learn everything. At the opposite extreme, it can be hard work but very satisfying to get to the end of a book knowing that you have learnt every word in it. See other tips on this page to make sure it is a book that is easy enough to do this with and to ensure that the vocabulary you learn is useful.

35.  Watching English children's films or TV programmes. Although some of the vocabulary you can learn from things made for children can be a bit strange (lots of animal names and maybe animal noises, including baby names for things), the fact that not only the language but the structure of the story is simplified can make it an easy and motivating thing to watch. Like good language learning materials, the same language is also often repeated to make it memorable, and the use of catchy songs etc. can increase this positive effect on your memory.

36.  Read English children's books. This is very similar to watching English children's movies, but with the added advantage of there being more illustrations than adult books, which both helps you to understand the story and makes the page brighter and more motivating to read.

37.  Keep a list of language to learn, e.g. a vocab list. Even if you don't often find time to go though your vocab list and it keeps on building up, just the act of choosing which words you need to learn and writing them down on a special list can help you learn them.

38.  Go through your vocab list several times every day. If ticking off words on a vocabulary list on the train to work is inconvenient or embarrassing for you, you can keep your list of words to learn as an entry in your electronic dictionary, as a mobile phone to do list or as a text file in your MP3 player (e.g. iPod). Although the time spent transferring the information between different formats like these may seem wasted, in fact any time you spend using the vocabulary like this will help you learn it.

39.  Convert your vocab list to English only. One way to stop yourself translating and therefore increase your speed of comprehension and production is to learn all your vocabulary without the use of your own first language. Ways you can write a vocab list in only English include with synonyms (words with the same meaning, e.g. "tall" and "high"); with opposites ("high" and "low"); with pronunciation factors such as number of syllables (the number of beats, e.g. three for "de- ci- sion") and the word stress (the syllable that is pronounced louder and longer, e.g. the second syllable in "baNAna"); and gapped sentences (e.g. "I am not _________________ in science fiction" for the word "interested").

40.  Cross out and delete. Crossing out or deleting words, sentences or whole pages that you have learnt can be a great motivator, and save your list of things to learn becoming too big to handle.

41.  Throw everything away and start again. One of the things that can put most people off learning is a stack of half finished books or a huge list vocabulary waiting to be learnt. Simply getting rid of all that and starting again with something new from zero can be a great motivator and get your studies underway again.

42.  Label things in your house or office with post-its. The easiest vocabulary to learn is the vocabulary of things you see and use everyday. If you can write the names of things around you on slips of paper and stick them on the real thing, this is a great way of learning useful vocabulary. If you can leave them there over the following days and weeks, this is a very easy way of revising the vocabulary until it is properly learnt.

43.  Label a drawing. For people who can't put labels on real things, the next best option is to take a photo of a real place in your life like your office, print it out, and then draw lines to all of the things you can see in the picture and label them in English with the help of a dictionary. You can do the same thing with places you pass through everyday like the station. Because you will see the same thing again and again, it should be easy to really learn the words for those things.

44.  Keep a diary in English. This is a popular method of making sure you use English everyday for people who don't often speak English and can't think of things to write about. The fact that you are writing about real things that have happened to you means that any words you look up in the dictionary will be vocabulary that is useful for you and easy to learn.

45.  Online chat. The closest thing to speaking for people who don't have the chance to speak English is online chat, as you have to think and respond quickly, and the language is short and informal just like speech.

46.  Listen to the radio news in English. You can make this easier by reading the news in English first, or even just by reading or listening to the news in your own language.

47.  Read an English language newspaper. Freebie newspapers like "Metro" in London are usually the easiest to understand, followed by mid-brow titles like "The Daily Express" or "The Daily Mail" in English. Popular newspapers like "The Sun" are more difficult because of the idiomatic, slangy use of language and the number of jokes in the headlines and articles.

48.  Write fiction in English, e.g. short stories. For people who find writing a diary about things that happen to them everyday boring, the best thing is to let your imagination go and write about whatever comes into your head. The advantage of this is that if you can't think of how to say something in English, you can just change the story to something that is easier to explain. Perhaps the easiest way to start writing fiction in English is with a diary, changing any details you like to make it more interesting and adding more and more fantasy as the weeks go on.

49.  English language exercise videos. This is quite similar to how babies learn, by listening, watching and copying. It is also good for your health!

50.  Learn a famous speech or poem in English by heart. Although you may never hear or get the chance to say exactly that line, having one memorable example of an English grammatical form in your head can make it much easier to learn other examples of the same grammar as you hear them. It is also something you can practice over and over without being as boring as grammatical drills.

51.  Get tipsy (= a little drunk) before speaking English. This can not only improve your fluency while you are drinking, but can also improve your confidence in future days and weeks by showing you that you can communicate what you want to say.

52.  Use a dictionary while you are watching a movie. Films often have the same words many times, so if you look up important words the first or second time you hear them, you should have learnt them by the end of the film. It is easier to use a dictionary if you watch with English subtitles.

53.  Learn and use the phonemic script. Although there are many sounds in English, there are even more spellings. By learning the phonemic script and writing vocabulary down with it, you can both add another stage to your vocabulary learning that should help you learn it more thoroughly, and improve your pronunciation. It can also make things easier for you by stopping you trying to pronounce different spellings of the same pronunciation different ways.

54.  Learn some spelling rules. Many people think that English spelling is random, but in fact most words follow some kind of rule, e.g. the "magic E" that changes the pronunciation of "mad" and "made".

55.  Record your own voice. For people who don't have much or any correction of pronunciation from a teacher, recording yourself and listening back makes it easier to hear whether you are really making the English sounds that you are trying to or not.

56.  Use computer pronunciation analysis. Although most programmes that claim to tell you when you are pronouncing correctly or not don't actually do that, listening many times and seeing how your voice changes as you try to match the sounds and waveform given by a pronunciation CD ROM can be good practice and more motivating than just recording your own voice.

57.  Learn as many words as you can of one category, e.g. animal words. Learning similar words together can both expand your overall vocabulary and make them easier to learn by forming links between the words in your brain.

58.  Take holidays abroad. This is not only a good opportunity to speak English in situations where you really have to make yourself understood in order to live, but it is also a good motivator to study English seriously in the weeks and months before your trip. If possible, also try to use English even when you could use your own language, e.g. when you pick a guided tour of a museum or historic place or when you book a flight on the internet, and try to avoid package tours.

59.  Draw pictures of the words you want to learn. Especially if you are artistic, this can be a better way of learning vocabulary than writing translations or example sentences.

60.  Find a foreign boyfriend or girlfriend. No tips on how to do this here, but everyone agrees that getting or even just looking for a date in English can be a great motivator to improve your language skills.

61.  Arrange a conversation exchange. Swapping lessons and conversation with someone who wants to learn your language can be a good alternative for those who aren't looking for romance, or can sometimes lead onto dating for those who are!

62.  Sign up for an English language exam. Even if you don't need to take an exam and don't want to or can't take a special course to study for it, paying to take an exam like TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS or FCE can really motivate you take your English studies seriously.

63.  Model your accent on one particular actor. e.g. try to speak like Robert De Niro. Students who say they want to sound more like a native speaker have the problem that native speakers don't sound all that much like each other. Choosing one model can make the task of improving your pronunciation more clear, and is quite fun. Doing an impression of that person also makes a good party trick.

64.  Use an English-English dictionary. Trying to use a bilingual dictionary less and switching to a monolingual one can help you to stop translating in you head when you are speaking or listening, and other useful English vocabulary can come up while you are using the dictionary.

65.  Occasionally talk to or e-mail your friends in English. Many people find this a bit false or embarrassing, but if you think of it as a study club and set a particular time and/ or place, it is no different from studying maths together.

66.  Go to an English or Irish pub. As well as having a menu in English and being a good way of finding out something about the culture of English speaking countries, you might also find there are free English language listings magazines, English language sports on the TV and/ or foreign people you can speak to.

67.  Buy a speaking electronic dictionary. Although most electronic dictionaries are not as good as paper ones for the amount of information they give you about each word, some of them have the very useful function of saying the word with the correct pronunciation.

68.  Learn your electronic dictionary vocabulary list. Most electronic dictionaries also have a button which you can push to see the last 30 or more words you looked up. By deleting words you decide are useless or you have already learnt from this list, you can use it as a "to do list" of words to learn that you can look at several times a day in the train etc.

69.  Switch operating system to English. Changing the operating language of your mobile phone, video recorder etc. to English can be an easy way of making sure you use the language everyday.

70.  Set goals. Deciding how many hours you want to study, how many words you want to learn or what score you want to get in a test are all good ways of making sure you do extra study.

My Sheep Hear My Voice: How to Hear From God and Prosper Holistically

My Sheep Hear my Voice, (Yes God Can Speak to You) By Joseph Ho, June 17th, 2008.

In the beginning, I was like everyone else and I don't believe that God can speak to us. Yet after consistent trying, I discover that I have done it and I have managed to plug my spiritual phone line to the throne of God; that is why I bothered to write a book about this. The bible says in Luke 11:10, “For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” And again in Matthew 4:4, Jesus answered, “It is written: “Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”” Bread refers to the bible and the mouth of God refers to God speaking actively to us.

This is an article about how to hear the voice of God in 14 different ways. This article references the book (My Sheep Hear My Voice) written to show and teach the Christian community the importance of hearing directly from the throne of God. Have you ever wonder if God can or will speak with us? The answer is yes, God is alive and he still speaks to his people. This may be the most important words that you will ever read for the next 15 minutes that will bring a real and important change in your life. It’s a breakthrough wisdom that comes from not just words but real life experiences that will point you into extreme peace and prosperity.

Personally, I have spent over 10 years to practice the art of hearing from God and executing most of my decision based on his guidance and I have been having a great and fantastic time with the Lord. All his instructions to me brought me peace, joy and success. Just to be candid about our beliefs, how can anyone claim that they worship a true God and yet in reality they live a life without any ability to hear from him? If God is our shepherd and we never receive any instructions and commands from him, then we are not glorifying the true living God. We are no different than worshipping dead idols and graven images when we can not hear from God. Conversely, if God is alive doesn’t he want to talk with us, since we worship him?

If we then know he is alive and yet does not speak to his people, then our claims are fictional and in conflict with our beliefs. This book (My Sheep Hear My Voice) testifies to all the people of the world that God speaks to his people, and not just one way but in at least 14 ways. These ways are not for the special exclusive group of people, it is for all his children and those who bother to take the time to listen to his reply when he speaks. I have done it with patient verification and constant testing and found that I was able to communicate with my God, thus I believe that anyone who seeks him will find as well. This is not a theoretical, theological conceptual exercise; it’s a real life activity. It’s a book that is written based on true life experiences. Most Christian don’t experience the voice of God because they expect God to speak to them in a very loud voice and be very spectacular, however, God speaks in very gentle ways and he does not intrude on us to freak us out.

When the instructions which God has given to me were actually obeyed and executed; the results were remarkable and rewarding. God says in the end times that he is seeking true worshippers who worship him in spirit and in truth. In spirit is to be led by the spirit of God and in truth is according to the word of Jesus, the son of God. I can no longer imagine how to live a good life without God’s council. I found that each time I obeyed his suggestion and advice, my tasks were easier and smoother and success was sweet. So without spiritual power and help, some of us may not be able to fulfill our destiny. Therefore, in order for the will of God to be fulfilled throughout the earth, all his disciples and followers must be doing his will by seeking his voice. And God says again in the book of Proverbs 8:34-35, “Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the lord.” And again in the book of Proverbs 8:34-35, it says, “Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my doors, waiting at my doorway. For whoever finds me finds life and receives favor from the lord. This book is a tribute of my 10 years of communion with the Lord, God, and I am testifying for him. God is alive, and he talks to me, and he want to talk to you. If you can believe and spent time to listen, you shall surely hear his voice. And I know you will because Jesus says, ask and you shall be given and seek you shall find and knock; the door will be opened.

This book which can be found at below website and it describes the details and shows that God will speak to us in the following ways:

  1. God speaks through His prophet and messengers.
  2. God speaks through dreams of the night.
  3. God speaks through the still quiet voice in our spirits.
  4. God speaks by prompting us in our hearts.
  5. God speaks audibly in a loud voice to our spirits.
  6. God speaks through vision, or pictures in our minds.
  7. God speaks through the peace in our hearts.
  8. God speaks to us through physical events, omens and signs.
  9. God speaks to us through physical objects and words that are in the streets.
  10. God speaks to us via bible verses that has been quicken and made alive.
  11. God speaks to us using scriptures that seem out of context.
  12. God speaks to us through animals.
  13. God speaks to us through angels.
  14. God speaks to us by casting of lots and Urim and Thumim.

If you thought that I got this gift or ability suddenly, then you are very wrong. The first time when I tried to speak to God and wanting him to reply, I got only dead silence. It was not immediately evident to me how to speak to God, but slowly, I decided to try and practice. I did not just read the book, I decided to practice the ways in the book, and I expected God to speak to me in those ways. In the beginning, it was very comical and foolish to do the things that I did, but I was not led astray nor was I embarrassed when I first made up my mind to seek the council of our Lord Jesus and God. When I decided to seek God, he began to turn his attention towards me.

You may wonder what was it that motivated me to want to hear his voice. Well, it’s sad but true, we do not seek God until we need him desperately. For me, I had 5 crises that happened to me in the year 1997, I needed a miracle in short. I found God and he spoke to me. God also gave me confirmations through scriptures that he is the one who spoke to me. This gave me peace and assurance, he is a good God, and we should not fear that we will hear a different voice. I was elated, surprised and very excited about this new found counselor. Then, I read that God can do anything even impossible things, and that is when I decided that God can speak to me in anyways he chose. The bible says in John 10:27, “My sheep hears my voice; I know them and they follow Me.” and again in John 10:3 – 5, “The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and he sheep follow him because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.”

Here is a simply analogy, I want you to reflect on your natural father; how do you recognize your father’s voice when he calls you on the phone. What is it about the voice that makes you recognize that it is your true father on the other line? First, it was the tone of his voice, and second it is the way he uses certain words, and thirdly, it is the way he speaks and his unique speech, fourth, it was the historical relationship with him that he can use certain events to jolt your memories all these combined together, gave you an idea that it is truly your father who is speaking to you. So have no fear that you will hear a wrong voice, we have a way to know if God is the one speaking to us.

Finally, be blessed in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, and my prayers will accompany you as you seek to hear his voice. He promised me through the bible verse: Isaiah 32:3, “Then the eyes of those who see will no longer be closed, and the ears of those who hear will listen. Then the mind of the rash will know and understand, and the stammering tongue will be fluent and clear.” Let your ears and eyes be opened as you seek to hear from him, and may he also cause you to hear, and see what goodness he has prepared for those who seek him. Finding him is finding an eternal treasure, for if God is for you, who can be against you. Whatever may be your situation, if God speaks to you, you will find a second chance and a way in the wilderness and he will lead you out of your trouble, I know because I came out of the wilderness because I hear his voice and like a sheep I followed the voice of the Shepherd and I came out of my pits. Truthfully, what have you got to lose? Go check out this book which was created to serve those who sincerely want to find a connection to the throne of God.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Tickets - Picking Up Where They Left Off

Georgia Tech will play its second Atlantic Coast Conference match against Maryland in a 12 noon match at the Comcast Center in College Park.

The Yellow Jackets will be entering the game on a high having won two of its last 3 games, winning their last non conference schedule against Georgia, 67-62.

In this season, the Yellow Jackets have a lead of 9-5 overall but have lost their first ACC game of the year against Virgina 88-84. The Jackets are 2-2 on the road this year, and were 4-4 on the road against ACC teams last season.

Maryland are 11-3 overall and will be playing their first ACC game of the year. They will have to buck themselves up after a shocking 66-65 defeat to Morgan State at their home. The defeat ended their seven games winning streak. Records are in the favor of the Terrapins; they have won the last six games against Georgia Tech and now lead the series against them 34-33. Over all Maryland has won 11 games of the last 16.

Georgia Tech is in good form and just need to carry it into the match against the Terrapins. Head coach Paul Hewitt haven't made changes to the players starting in the previous seven game, the starting line up included Lewis Clinch, freshman Iman Shumpert at guard. At the front line the Yellow Jackets started with junior Peacock, senior Alade Aminu and sophomore Gani Lawal.

Lawal has scored 17 points per game and has taken 10 rebounds per game, Aminu scored 13.5 points per game and took 8.9 rebounds per game. Both these Yellow Jackets rank in ACC's top five in field percentage with a combination of 56.5 percent shots from the floor.

Clinch is also not far behind; he has scored in double digits in the last six games of the seven that he has started, averaging 14.0 points per game.
Shumpert, at the point guard averages 11.3 points per game; he also ranks second in the ACC in assist average.

Peacock has perfected his outside shooting and defensive skills in the absence of Bell and Miller. He averages 10.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.

Not only the starters but the reserves for Georgia Tech are impressive as well. Sophomore Lance Storrs has scored 5 points per game with over 42 percent from the three point range and freshman Nick Foreman averages 2.1 points per game. Foreman has a very strong defense. Brad Seehan, a 7-foot monster averages 4.1 points per game and 2.6 rebounds per game.

Georgia Tech just needs to carry on with what they have done in their recent matches, if they are able to do so they will easily ride past an already shocked Maryland.

How to wear Clip in Hairpieces and Hair Extensions

<!-- @page { margin: 2cm } P { margin-bottom: 0.21cm } -->

Have you ever dreamed of having long, luscious flowing locks of hair? Does your hair grow incredibly slowly? If so, then clip in hairpieces or hair extensions could be the answer as they are perfect for turning your hair into beautiful flowing locks instantly. Instead of having glue in or bonded hair extensions, clip in hairpieces or hair extensions can be easily removed at the end of the day, so they are perfect for that great party or special date or just whenever you want to look different for a few hours. They are much cheaper than salon-made permanent hair extensions and do not cause any damage to your own hair.

Quality clip in hair extensions are several strands of hair, each attached individually. Usually 3- or 4-inch wide pieces go on the back of your head in several layers, and a few 1- or 2-inch wide pieces are put on the sides. As the name suggests, each strand is attached to your own hair with a clip. With a little bit of practice, clipping the extensions in becomes rather easy and takes only a few minutes. Taking them off is even easier.

You can usually find 14", 16" and 18" clip-in hair extensions. Anything longer puts too much tension on your own hair. Clip in hair extensions can be brought either made from synthetic fibre or harvested from human hair. The advantage of using human clip in hair extensions, as opposed to synthetic hairpieces is that they can be coloured, or used with heart such as straighters or hairdryers, however the price is usually 4 times more expensive!

Clip-in hair extensions are suitable for people whose natural hair is shoulder length or longer. If you have medium length hair, extensions can make it longer. If you have long but very fine hair, or your hair is not in its best condition, clip-in hair extensions are a great way to bring richness and fullness to your hair. However, clip in hairpieces will work for women with very short hair, as these are worn over the top of your own ponytail. Clip in hairpieces come in a range of colour and styles and usually made from synthetic fibres so easily maintained.

Clip in Hair extensions only look natural when they are mixed in with your natural hair, so if your hair is short, people will notice that you are wearing extensions. If you have a short haircut, but are dying for long locks, buy a wig that is similar in colour to your natural hair. High quality designers' wigs look very natural - nobody will guess that you are wearing a wig unless you tell them. If a wig is not for you, then you can go for salon-made clip in hair extensions that are braided or glued to your own hair. These stay in for several months, but cost significantly more than clip-ins.

Since clip in hair extensions are mixed in with your own hair, colour matching is very important. And the good news is that human hair clip-in extensions can be coloured to match your own hair colour exactly. However, I wouldn't recommend doing that at home - it is better to colour your extensions at the salon. You can also use hot iron on the human hair extensions to curl them a little.

The cost varies greatly for human clip in hair extensions and clip in hairpieces, depending on the material. Synthetic hair extensions will cost you less than £25. For real human hair extensions, you might pay from £300 to £400. However, you can get good discounts through online hair extensions and wigs shops.

Clip-in hair extensions and clip in hairpieces can be real fun. They will help you to create a different image instantly, and can be a great self esteem booster for woman who have short, thinning hair.

Evolution of Dance Video Clips - Why Dance

Evolution of Dance Video Clips - Why Dance?

When it comes to dance there are many reasons that different people in different cultures spanning the globe choose to dance. This article will explore some of the many reasons that people dance around the world and perhaps provide new incentives for you to dance your way through your days as well. Visit here now http://evolutionofdance-youtubevideo.blogspot.com

Dancing for Religion

Many religions around the world and throughout history have used dance in praise of their deities, in celebration of the seasons, and simply as an outward expression of joy. Christianity has mixed emotions when it comes to dance. Some religions feel that all manner of social dance can lead to forbidden actions or thoughts and tend to frown upon dance in general as a result while other Christian religions believe that there is a time, place, and purpose for dancing. Some have even incorporated dancing into their religious ceremonies (weddings as one example). Most will agree that dance is a matter of personal conviction within the Christian religion because of the heated debates that can arise on the topic.

The Hindu religion dance is an essential form of worshipping the various aspects of the Divine. This form of dance is often mistakenly referred to as Classical Indian Dance though in reality it is a form of worship. There are different dances for the different deities as every god has a different preference.

Even the religion of Islam has its own version of dancing for worship. Those who practice this form of dance for the sake of worship are often referred to as Whirling Dervishes.

The Weapon Dance

This is a form of dance that has a long history dating back to Spartan warriors preparing for battle. This style of dance has been used throughout history and around the world by many nations and cultures as preparation, training, and raising morale for imminent battle. Though no longer widely practiced, and certainly not as a precursor to battle, the history and ceremony of the Weapon Dance is not to be forgotten and still practiced in ceremonial events today to honor the way things have been done in the past.

Native American Tribal Dances

It is also worth noting that what has become commonly referred to as war dances by Native American tribes are quite possibly the very same weapons dances that have such a long and noble history around the world. Individual tribes had their own dances that were used when preparing to battle with other tribes, preparing for a big hunt, or preparing to defend themselves against constant invasion and relocation.

War, or imminent battle was not the only reason that Native American tribes danced however. Dance held an important role in the worshipping of various gods as well as tribal ceremonies or individual expressions of prayer, grief, joy, or simply of embracing nature and become one with the world around them. Dance is essential to Native American heritage and culture. For Native American dance, the beat of the drum is an essential component. It is the drumbeat that drives the pace and the intensity of the dance.

Competitive Dance

Around the world there are those that dance competitively in all forms of dance. From recreational forms of dancing to spiritual forms of dancing the competitions are fierce and the competitors quite often dedicate their lives and the vast majority of their free time to honing and perfecting their particular forms of dance. In competitive dance there are judges who judge artistic expression, technical skills, costumes, and the uniformity or execution of movements. Those who dance competitively must be committed to their craft in order to remain competitive.

Of course some people dance simply because they want to and there is certainly nothing wrong with that. There is really no bad reason to dance unless you are being forced to do so against your will. Otherwise when it comes to dance, the best reason to dance is because the music leaves you no other option but to dance. Visit here now http://evolutionofdance-youtubevideo.blogspot.com

Region Free Blu-Ray Dvd Player

Blu-Ray dvd players are regularly referred to as BluRay dvd player or possibly Blu-Ray disc players, also often inaccurately spelled as blue ray dvd players,  are HI-definition dvd players that offer the paramount video recording now to be had. Comparable to regular dvd players, bluray dvd players are all different around the world. Blu-ray discs have regional coding and restrictions the same as normal dvd movies. In spite of this it gets even more problematical because in Bluray regional coding the world is separated into just 3 areas unlike standard dvd movies. To make matters yet more convoluted Blu-ray dvd players also play normal DVDs so while you are looking to buy a Multi region blu ray player, you might want to be confident it can play the standard dvd movies from the regions of your picking. After reading this brief article you could be aware of more then you want or need to regarding code free blu-ray dvd players. Then again if you are unable to find the information you require, or you have missed one piece of this series, subsequently you may want to visit my Blu-ray DVD Player Appraisal site.

Bluray Regional codes explanation:

Blu-ray format  discs are encoded with a regional code, planned to confine the vicinity of the world in which they should be played; similar to the DVD region codes. Blu ray players sold in a certain region must only be able to handle discs programmed for that territory. The purpose of this system is to allow film studios to direct the diverse aspects of the release (as well as substance, date, and, especially, price) according to the state.

Blu-ray Region code  Areas

Code region A     North, South and Central America, Japan, Taiwan, North and South Korea, Hong Kong and Southern Asia.
Code region B     Europe, Middle East, Africa, Australasia and Oceania.
Code region C     Asia, Nepal, Mainland China, Russia and old Soviet states plus Central and Southern Asia.

As a rule Multi Region Bluray dvd players will handle DVD movies from Areas A and B.

Typical DVD Region Code Explanation:

Code Region 1 - The U.S., U.S. territories and Canada
Code Area 2 - Europe, Japan, the Middle East, Egypt, South Africa, Greenland
Code Region 3 - Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong
Code Region 4 - Mexico, Southern and Central America, Australasia, Pacific Islands and Caribbean
Code Region 5 - Russia (and former Soviet states ), Eastern Europe, India, Africa, North Korea, Mongolia
Code Area 6 - China

On the whole the region free dvd player will play discs from any of the above areas and because of this are very popular and always in high demand for understandable reasons.

Blues Guitar!! Whats the best way to learn it?

Learn to play? Whats the best way? Blues did you say? We could go in circles all day.Your here to learn to play the blues guitar.

In my heart one has to feel the blues after they learn a handful of traditional licks. Picture this.  A father and his little boy sitting on a porch. The boy says "dad teach me the blues". The father picks up the guitar says "now watch son".  He plays a lick and hands it back to his son and says "do that". The boy does his best. He cant do it very well but the image of his father for the first time playing that blues lick he will never forget. The little boy does that almost every night with his father and his fathers musical friends. It all becomes ingrained in his heart and soul.  Its amazing what the mind remembers.

Learning to play the blues is like someone that speaks only English thrown into a Spanish community where no one speaks English.  Its immersion. Before you know it, your picking up words and then sentences. It's survival.  The more blues music and influences that you have surrounding you will get you to play the blues better and better each day.

There are allot of books on how to play the blues but they only touch the surface. Lets start of by talking about the blues scale used in blues music. You get a book that shows you the fingering for  the five positions on the fret board for example in the key of G.  The student in the beginning spends so much energy and time memorizing the five different  positions and fingerings for all 6 strings plugging their way through it. All that time spent they could have been playing traditional licks in all five positions learning to play the blues.

How do you make that blues scale sound like your playing the blues? You hear so many students ask this question? They will say "I know all the 5 positions of the blues scale. I learned it from a book, and I cant play the blues. To me it just sounds like I am playing notes up and down the strings?"  This is the most common statement you will hear. Many beginning blues guitar players feel this way.

I stress again instead of spending all that time in the beginning learning all the fingerings and positions on all six strings there is another way, a better way.  Learn  traditional blues licks, or blues riff's found in all five blues scale positions only on two top strings for all three chords.  So to explain even more simple.  You learn a traditional lick on two top strings for all 5 blues scales on all three blues chords ( 1chord, 4chord, and 5chord). You as a student will remember a lick corresponds to each position. I have just told you my method. I have never seen it taught this way in my life.  I am so excited to share this with you. It might sound mumbo jumbo but with a guitar in hand I hope you will understand, or intrigue you to make that step to have a lesson with me.

When you learn a traditional blues lick for each blues scale positions you will never forget where to start on the fret board. It becomes an anchor.  The rest is up to you.  Your ear will then slowly hear what the other notes are on the other strings that sound good.  Before you know it you will know by your self, the correct notes on four stings playing the blues scale in 5  positions.  You will masterfully make up your own little blues lick now on the other two strings( 3 & 2) by your own invention or from hearing allot of blues and simulating what you hear. I am not knocking totally using the fingerings in the book, but don't depend on it to much.

There is so much to learn all at once . If you get together with other players in your community, thats great. Find players transient coming in and out of your town. Find allot of blues CD's and blues radio shows and listens to the guitar, and visualize you are playing in your mind.  You will have so much intuitive knowledge up in that head of yours , when you come to play the blues it will spill out.

Naturally you will seek mentors that teach you, and I suggest as many as you can find who teaches blues guitar. You will start playing basic guitar chords.  Practice and practice, you will feel it in your bones. Practising should not be a chore it is your release, a time to forget about everything else.

I feel all these points are the makings of the great blues guitar players.  Blues guitar. How do you learn to play the blues?  I have descrobed the same thing in three different way in this article, in hopes you will be intriqued study with me.

I teach the course privatly.  If you are to far away I strongly advise you to order the course. My students are amazed by it. They float out the door after each lesson. For me it is such a joy after all these years to share this.

Frosted Glass, Glass Glazing and Glass Cutting Transform Glass Adorations

Glass work and technologies have come a long way since their inception. Today, with the help of advanced machineries and equipment, there is a wide range of artistic glass available in the market. With various techniques like glass glazing and glass cutting, a whole new glass range is available in the market. Frosted glass has one of the highest set of demands in the market.

With the help of these modern techniques like glass cutting and glass glazing, the interiors and exteriors of buildings and homes have been rendered with exquisite beauty. A dynamic combination of glass glazing and glass cutting in frosted glass has appealed to a wider spectrum of customers, across all segments. Frosted glass is used at archways, lobbies, high ceiling domes and all these are being crafted by glass cutting and glass glazing.

Glass cutting in various sizes and shapes is now possible with ultramodern techniques of production. A lot of recent constructions have employed glass cutting as a major technique for decorations of alleys and passages in hotels and residential housings.

Glass glazing is an artist approach of rendering and beautification of glass. This technique of glass glazing not only restricts visibility of the glass when used for concealing purposes, it also adds a dimension of creativity to the structure where it is used.

Frosted glass is known for its tensile strength and the way it appreciates a design through glass glazing and glass cutting. Frosted glass has been an answer to limiting visibility in a lot of places. The major utility of frosted glass has been acknowledged by the medial industry as frosted glass is used in cubicles, operation theatres, bathrooms, etc.

A lot of contemporary architecture uses frosted glass and use a lot of hardware made with glass cutting and glass glazing in residential projects, commercial projects and housing projects.

Microsoft: Where are They Headed?

Microsoft is a difficult situation for me to evaluate. I think the company still has a lot of growth ahead in some areas. But, that depends on where management wants to take it.

There are three core businesses that are already well developed: Windows, Office, and Servers.

The moat in the first two are wide. The Windows moat is huge.

The business model in operating systems is great. You keep upgrading every few years; the hardware needn't progress for you to find things to tweak and get people to buy the next step up. It's insanely profitable.

I think the new launch (Vista) will be bigger than people expect (eventually) in how it allows for cross selling other Microsoft products (but we'll see about that). I expect the press to be very negative at least until well after the launch, because there will always be some bugs and delays.

Games

Eventually, video games will be a big business for Microsoft. I hate the economics of the console business, but love the economics of the publishing (and development) side of things.

I'm sorry to see that Microsoft didn't use its cash pile to buy up an established business here (publishers were cheap in the market a few years ago; an all cash deal would have worked well. Now, everyone thinks video games will be the next big thing).

The console wars are going well for Microsoft. The two keys to establishing a dominant console are launching first and getting good games on your platform. We'll see how Sony (SNE) does this round, but I expect them to be the big loser.

Nintendo may surprise here. I think the Xbox 360 and Nintendo's new console (Wii) will do very well. It'll be interesting to see the breakdown of the consoles in both the domestic and foreign markets. I think Sony may still be strong overseas, but could be in a much poorer position at the end of this round than they were with the PS2.

Search

Long-term I am optimistic about search. I think Google's position is much weaker than most people think. I don't think Microsoft will be the only one to benefit here.

Search is a very natural cross sell with Windows. That's the direction everything seems to be headed in (combining online and desktop search). For future growth in terms of market share I think Microsoft is in a better position than either Yahoo (YHOO) or Google (GOOG).

I also think we might see a couple other (largely unknown) search engines gain some share.

I think Google's strength is its brand. Its dominance helps with advertisers more than users. I don't think it has a lock on users. Also, I think Google has been poorly positioned for doing much of anything outside of keyword search.

I expect to see a lot more in the way of intelligent, social search inspired stuff. Years from now, much of search will have to be helping you find what you didn't know you wanted to find.

Google is dominant in a different business: helping you find what you know you want to find (but don't know the name / location). The two types of search are very different. Both will be important, but the growth in other forms of search will be coming off a smaller base and will likely integrate with keyword search. Google has the most to lose here.

Other Devices

Microsoft wants to perform well on mobile devices and on your TV. Compared to competitors it is very strong in these respects.

The strategy seems to be the one I would favor - to control the point of initial contact wherever software is used and then to only venture into the actual application or content side of the business where it is highly profitable to do so. In video games it will be highly profitable. In other areas it is less likely to be very profitable.

I expect to see more generic, web-based applications. These will be less profitable for everyone. Office should hold up well, but not as well as Windows. Basically, Microsoft needs to take what it has in PCs and import that to TVs, Handheld Devices, Consoles, and the Web.

That should be the strategy. I think that is the strategy. These aren't unrelated businesses that need to be broken up to unlock creativity (as some have suggested). Rather, the profit potential for each is greatly enhanced by being part of Microsoft. If you take these pieces apart they are worth very little. There would only be the three businesses I started off talking about and the console / games business.

Internationally, there is going to be natural growth for Microsoft's dominant businesses. It won't be a tremendous growth rate, but it will be strong and will require virtually no additional investment to secure.

Obsolescence Issues

Overall, I like the future for software a lot more than hardware, because the marginal gains in the quality of hardware will slow greatly in the years ahead.

The question isn't what can be done mathematically in terms of increasing specs; it's what that translates to for the user. We are reaching a point where the individual user will not directly see the benefits of increased hardware performance as clearly as he did in the past.

Much of the research that goes in to this area will only serve to bring down prices and benefit memory intensive businesses - it will not provide as much of a "wow" factor for the user anymore.

This is especially true in games. The situation in desktop applications is already such that improving the software design is where most gains will come from.

Computing power is simply not a scarce resource for most individuals sitting at home or in a cubicle. Advances will benefit some users a lot and will trickle down to the end user (often via the web) through fast responses and cheap services. But, that's a barely noticeable change.

You'll see something here akin to the kind of thing you see in the brokerage business. It won't be obvious, because price competition will never be as great in software.

Generally, you'll just see the prices for doing anything electronically come down. That's very different from what we've seen over the last few decades, where you also had advancements that attracted new users, because they allowed developers to do something differently, not just more cheaply.

This is a very long-term trend I'm worried about. It could weigh heavily on a business like Dell (DELL), because PCs are actually quite durable; once the rate of obsolescence slows, sales will have to slow as the cycle lengthens.

Management

I think Microsoft's management is absolutely the best in the business. In fact, I think it's one of the best in any business.

It would be hard for me to find more than a handful of people I'd rather have managing a business I was part owner of. I also think the current arrangement is a good one.

There is enough of a line between current operations and future investments in the Chairman / CEO split that investors will probably get the greatest benefit from the brilliance of the Chairman this way.

Everyone underestimates Bill Gates. It's easy, because his great triumph came some time ago now. But, he's interested in building something lasting. I trust him more than anyone in tech without a question. He always impresses me whether he's talking about his own industry or some other topic. He has exactly the right kind of mind for someone running a business where the long-run is such a concern.

Qualitatively, I think Microsoft scores close to perfectly. I could cite the profitability stats, but I won't, because you know they're better than almost any other business on the planet - and that's with a huge siphoning off of resources to investments in the future that aren't required to maintain the cash cow, wide-moat Windows franchise.

Valuation

Valuation is a bit more troubling. Microsoft is not at the point on an EV/EBIT basis where I'd be buying the stock if there was a risk of no extraordinarily profitable growth in the future. In other words, at the current price, it clearly makes for a bad bond.

The key is earnings growth. I think you have to believe MSFT will have a real future in search, games, and non-PC devices that will fuel future, highly profitable growth.

I think that future is there. As far as a truly large cap stock (say $10 billion or more) it's about as attractive as anything on the planet right now - and certainly it's the most attractive stock of any very large U.S. business. Even though Intel (INTC) and Dell are cheap looking, I don't like them nearly as much. Dell is an interesting situation, but I don't understand the business well enough.

I have a better idea of where MSFT is headed - and I like it.

Conclusion

I don't own shares of MSFT. I won't be buying any either. I don't normally own such large stocks. I prefer much smaller businesses, because the mispricings tend to get more out of whack. You aren't going to see MSFT trade at an EV/EBIT of 7.5 or something like that, but you do sometimes get those chances in small (high quality) businesses.

There are a lot of chances to find wild mispricings without much of the future being a concern. Those are the situations I prefer to invest in, because businesses like MSFT have an awfully large anchor with the amount of capital they've got - plus, they tend to be less likely to be wildly mispriced.

However, if I had to own one business with a market cap of more than $10 billion and hold it for a lifetime I would buy Microsoft here without hesitation.
